A forest fire broke out in La Penuela, municipality of Moguer (Huelva, Andalusia) on 24 June at 21.00 UTC.
As of 26 June at 7.00 (UTC), National Civil Protection authorities reported that 450 people are in shelters in three municipalities (150 Moguer, 270 Almonte and 30 Matalascanas). Two houses were damaged and one national road was closed. Local media also reported that the Captive Breeding Center El Acebuche was evacuated and that the forest fire is advancing towards the National Park of Donana.
478 firefighters are involved in the operations with 38 heavy firetrucks.
According to the European Forest Fire Information System (EFFIS), fire danger forecast for the area remains "high" on 26 June.
Over the next 24 h, dry conditions, high temperatures (up to 31°C in Moguer) and moderate winds are forecast.
