Severe weather, including thunderstorms, heavy rain, strong winds and snowfall, has been affecting several areas of the country over the last five days, causing floods.
According to the Centre Opérationnel de Gestion Interministérielle des Crises (COGIC), as of 12 December, that at least 16 people have been slightly injured due to traffic disruptions and floods. It also mentioned that trees have fallen, roads have been blocked and flights have been cancelled in Nice (Alpes-Maritimes department). Local media reported that more than 50 000 people have been left without power across the south-eastern departments.
Over the next 24 hours, more thunderstorms and snowfall may continue to affect several areas of the country.
