The number of people affected is still rising, with now close to 6 million people. The Needs Assessment Working Group will finalize its assessment early this week and the Clusters Leads will meet with their Government counterparts to determine gaps to be supported by the international community. The START Network has allocated £ 659 306 (more than EUR 700 000).
Progress made in the resilience context risks being lost due to this shock. In some areas, people had managed to build up some reserves over the years, but there have been three subsequent floods in the past 4-5 months and the monsoon season is still not over.
