India, Pakistan - Tropical Cyclone - NILOFAR - UPDATE

  • NILOFAR is moving northeast, over the Arabian Sea, towards western India and south-eastern Pakistan. On 30 October at 00.00 UTC it had max. sustained winds of 111 km/h and its center was located approx. 630 km south-west of the coast of Gujarat State (western India).
  • It is forecast to rapidly weaken into a depression, prior to landfall on the Gujarat coast on 1 November, with associated winds of about 60 to 80 km/h.  
  • In Pakistan, Provincial Disaster Management Authorities (PDMA) have declared a state of emergency throughout Sindh Province and in coastal areas of Baluchistan. Advisories have been issued regarding possible severe flooding in urban areas, and funds have been allocated for preparedness measures. Preparedness measures are also being put in place by the government of India.

ERCC Mapping Service

The ERCC provides access to mapping services for ECHO Units and Delegations. In special cases, other Commission Services may request a map (please justify your request). In all cases, the request will be reviewed and validated by the ERCC. In collaboration with the Joint Research Centre, ERCC is providing daily maps, country base maps and situation maps.
