Spain - Severe weather
- ECHO Daily flash of 12/03/2018
Severe weather, including heavy rain, strong winds and high waves, has been affecting most of the country, especially the north and the north-west over the past two days. This has caused damage and some people have been injured.
According to local media, as of 12 March at 7.00 UTC, at least five people have been injured of which two of them in A Coruña (Galicia region), two more in Madrid City, and one more in Jaen (Andalusia region) due to accidents caused by fallen trees.
Over the next 24 hours, more heavy rain and strong winds may continue to affect the northwestern and eastern areas. The National Agency of Meteorology has published, as of 12 March, an orange alert for strong winds in eastern Spain.
