Severe weather, including thunderstorms, strong winds and heavy rain, has been affecting several areas of the northeastern, the central and the southeastern over the past few days causing floods.
According to national authorities, as of 10 August morning UTC, one person has gone missing in Saint Julien de Peyrolas (Gard, Occitanie region). They also reported 50 000 houses have been left without power in the department of South and Southeast. Currently approximately 7 000 houses are still without electricity. In addition, media reported that 1 600 people have been evacuated from Gard.
Over the next 48 hours, more heavy rain is expected with local thunderstorms in the north and northwestern areas of the country.
