- ECHO Daily flash of 29/01/2018

  • Heavy rain has been affecting the northern and eastern areas of France over the past days, causing rivers to overflow and floods.
  • According to French Civil Protection, as of 29 January at 7.00 UTC, approximately 1 300 people have been temporary evacuated in Paris and in Ile de France region. In addition, media reported that several roads and railways along the river Seine in Paris are closed. River traffic on the Seine is also temporarily closed.
  • French Weather Agency (MeteoFrance) has issued an orange alert for heavy rain and flooding in 11 department in northern and central regions of the country.
  • Over the next 24 hours, more locally heavy rain is forecast for the northern regions of France.
