Colombia - Floods and Landslides

  • Heavy rain has affected central-western Colombia over the last week, triggering floods and several landslides which resulted in casualties and damage.
  • As of 4 December at 8.00 UTC, at least three people were killed in Calarcá Municipality (Quindío Department) due to a landslide. In addition, around 300 families were affected by floods and landslides across Guatape, Bello and Copacabana Municipalities (near to the Medellin area, Antioquia Department).
  • Over the next 24 hours, the weather is forecast to be drier.
